From Jeanne: Carl’s spirit is strong. Carl said many times that he was not afraid of death, but he loved life and hoped to live a very long time.

Carl had the best eyes in the world. When he smiled, his whole face smiled. He had the most wonderful laugh. Carl loved people. He loved music, baseball, and the environment. He loved life. He loved me (Jeanne) and I continue to love him.

Think of Carl and smile whenever it snows. He loved all types of weather, but snow was his favorite. CARL, WE LOVE YOU. You are one of a kind. No one with your zest for life should be gone. WE WILL ALL MISS YOU!

Carl was a much-loved member of our community and a major supporter of the Peoples' Voice Cafe, NYC Friends of Clearwater, and Peoples' Music Network. A special remembrance will be planned for Carl at a future time.

True Environmentalist Activist, thinker, quality friend, mentor, colleague and personable humane being, Carl Schwartz is truly irreplacable. Carl imbued many with a sense of spirit, idealism, leadership and purpose. Carl was a several time New York City Friends of Clearwater President, Croton Watershed Clean Water Coalition Board member, anti-Indian Point activist, clean, preserved and safe Croton Watershed activist, organizer against the Van Cortlandt Park Filtration plant, organizer of the Ships to Save the Waters sail, American Bicentennial sail, WHY Hungerthon, People's Voice Cafe publicist, People's Music Network organizer. Carl also wanted to get matters right, as he believed we must appreciate each other and the earth for sustainability. We will always remember Carl Schwartz as a truly special friend.

Carl is survived by his life partner of over 23 years, Jeanne, and two sisters and one brother.
